Susan S. Holt
Susan is a seasoned fundraising and development communications specialist with over 25 years of experience in leadership positions at academic medical research centers, higher education institutions and arts organizations. In 2009, she founded Vision Philanthropy Group, Inc., a full-service fundraising and development communications consulting practice. Susan is also a senior consulting associate, specializing in health care advancement, with Brakeley Briscoe Inc. headquartered in San Mateo, California.
Susan has held senior development positions at some of the nation's premiere institutions, including multiple positions over sixteen years at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (Nashville); Chief Development Officer at Weill Cornell Medical College (New York City); Associate Dean, Development and Alumni Relations at Case Western Reserve University Medical School (Cleveland); and Vice President for Development at National Jewish Health (Denver).
Susan is a consummate development professional. She knows how to help organizations inspire giving that
makes a difference.
She is responsible for organizing the first Office of Institutional Advancement at Weill Cornell Medical College where she managed the $700 million nucleus fund for the College’s historic $1.3 Billion “Discoveries that Make a Difference” campaign. At Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Susan established the advancement program for the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center and led the Center’s “Imagine a World Without Cancer” $150 million campaign, which exceeded the goal at $180 million in four years as well as providing development leadership to the nursing school and the medical school’s basic sciences programs.
Susan began her fundraising career in arts development in Rochester, NY and Washington, D.C.
She is a frequent presenter on strategic planning, campaigns and major gifts, most recently including
