Megan L. Taggard, research analyst

Megan serves as VPG’s grateful patient prospect research consultant and analyst with 17 years of experience in higher education, secondary school and healthcare fields. She is a strategic thinker and team leader with ability to analyze large quantities of data, verify wealth screening data and create high-quality written pieces of research to guide strategic gift planning.  Her expertise is in grateful patient wealth screening, building prospect research departments, creating processes, data integrity, individual, corporate and foundation research and data mining.

She is a Blackbaud/Raiser’s Edge specialist.  In her role as a development services professional and consultant working at Duke Medical Center, the Lahey Clinic and Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Megan has established best practices in prospect research departments and daily processes for screening patients and identifying major gift donors.  She has worked with development officers and physicians to identify, screen and identify patients with major giving capacity.

Megan has served in the development services staff as a prospect researcher at Duke University (Durham, NC) supporting the institution’s $2 billion campaign and at the Lahey Clinic (Boston, MA).  She began her career at Skidmore College (Saratoga Springs, NY) in the alumni and development program. She resides with her husband and their active family in West Simsbury, CT.
